I know many of our members are pretty web savy, maybe you've even started or maintain your own forum now.

What can we do to get this place going? There hasn't been any activity here in quite some time, and zero new members.

Any suggestions or feedback would be appreciate...

I have soo busy it isn't even funny

I have a bunch of tutorials I am still in the middle of...I plan to post them when I finish.

Some previews ~ probably irrelevant to this thread

Corel vector art tuts

A Female Face in progress ~

A Car in Progress ~

I would gladly do some more sign related stuff if someone has something in mind let me know.

As far as shopping the site around, though I  avoid 101 now - anyone still visiting could maybe include
a tag in their signature.

I do frequent other sign sites and will be happy to put a link in my sig.

Neato ~

How much seo stuff have you done ? any? I would imagine you already submitted this site for inclusion?
Have you linked with your other site? If you like I can include a link from my site to here...let me know.

Good ideas.

I'm in awe of your work number2. Nice stuff.

It reminded me of a project I'm starting as well. This is my first vector drawing, no gradients, all solid fill. It's not much yet, but I think you can tell what it's going to be....

Number2,

Do you use the mesh fill tool a lot?

A tutorial on how to use it well would be helpful to a lot of members, I'm sure. I've never been able to master it.

1st off...  Nice work on the vectors guys!  Neato...you continue to amaze me... (1st time tryin'...lol)

Now on to the matter at hand....

I would figure out 2 things.  One, what are you trying to have this forum offer that cannot be obtained elsewhere? and Two, How are those people that want this knowledge, chat area, free cars, etc... know how to find us?

From you original info when you created this forum, you implied that you wanted a smaller, friendlier forum without the headaches of arguments, soap boxes, etc...  Great idea BTW...  but, will that be enough to remind people to come here?  My belief is that people will easily change venues for either something BETTER or because it has been beat into their head over and over...  So with that, what can we (you) offer that is better?  Other than the lack of soap boxing, etc... although that is a good one...not a ton of followers on that alone.

Then, no matter what it is that you decide to offer,  that info has to get out to the public (or the select few that you truly want hangin' out here) Smiley

My first thought when I even think about Sign Amigo is ...friendly, helpful, etc... Just on the name alone I feel that I should be able to get answers to my questions, and be able to offer opinions without being told how foolish I am.... so that is great...  but what else is needed to grow a forum?... hmmm brainstorming now....

I wanted to post on both NUMBER 2 and NEATO. Both vector examples are great, are you using Illustrator or Corel or a combo of both? Also, we are looking at purchasing the Wacom Cintiq for our vector drawings. Are either of you two using this?

Nothing but CorelDRAW with the above examples...as for the tablet I have one, NEVER use it...

How about personal invites, there are some good people floatin' around that I think would appreciate a smaller/better forum with respectable intentions....

the best forums grow sloooooowly.
